Toque Nutri-Cereals Program
The Toque with an understanding with ASKES (charitable organization), has been strengthening the on-going Millet Feeding Program, to feed the hungry bellies, who have no means of livelihood, or cannot afford two square meals a day. With the joint collaboration of the Toque with ASKES, the program on feeding the hungry poor with millets had taken a new dimension, as it has been properly formatted as The Toque Nutri-Cereals Program, under different categories, given as under.
Millet Food for the Poor
Under the Millet Food for the Poor Program, Millet food is served to 400 – 500 poor and the needy at free of cost, every day on regular basis, which is implemented at Indira Nagar, Tellapur (Hyderabad), and also similar feeding camps are being organized in other parts of the city and few pockets in and around Rangareddy district in Telangana, on need & priority-basis. Under this program, a Toque-Millet Flour Processing Centre, with the facility of a centralized mechanized kitchen for Millet food preparation, at Tellapur, has been contemplated, which is at the logistic stage (under process), meant to serve Millet lunch or break-fast to at least 5000 persons at a time on any given day.
Millet & Nutritious Food for Students at Campus
Millet and other Nutritious food is served for break-fast or lunch to the poor students residing in the Campus, during their stay at Toque Educational Campus at Tellapur. Students of various batches and courses, enrolled in Toque Educational Campus, (including short and term courses) gets the benefit of this Program. The number of students provided with millet and nutritious food had been indefinite at any point of time, as they are floating study-group, and vary from batch to batch and course to course, and sometimes even a visiting group of day-scholar poor students are also extended benefit under this program.
Community Millet Food Promotion
Millet food promotion has been undertaken with the help of communities by involving them in Millet Awareness Program in Toque Tellapur Campus. This program is an out-reach program on millets, through capacity building of communities on Millet Value Added Products, and increased usage of millet as regular diet. Millet food is served to them at free of cost, as courtesy lunch or break-fast, subject to the time of commencement of the session, and the periodicity of the session (for a day or more in a week, or for a week or more in a month).
Millet Resource-Workers Program
Under Millet Resource-Workers Program, short-term capacity building sessions are conducted at Toque Tellapur Campus, with a focus on Millet nutritious food and on its value-added products. This program is meant for organized women groups or self-help groups, who are interested in replicating the Millet-Food Program in their choice of areas of the work. Millet Food will also be served to them at free of cost, as courtesy lunch or break-fast, subject to the time of commencement of the session, and the periodicity of the session (for a day or more in a week, or for a week or more in a month).
Millet Volunteers Program
Students, Unemployed Youth who seek to volunteer on Millet Food Program, are given an opportunity to undergo sessions, covering Millet Value Added Products in Toque Tellapur Campus, under the Millet Volunteers Program. Millet Food will also be served to them at free of cost, as courtesy lunch or break-fast, subject to the time of commencement of session, and the periodicity of the sessions (for a week or more in a month, or for a month or more in a quarter).
Millet Feeding Program for Mothers and Children
Under this program, Millet Lunch or Millet Break-fast is served to Pregnant & Lactating Mothers, Infants and Children up to 6 years age group, as a special component, in Toque Tellapur Campus. Simultaneously Free- health camps for Pregnant & Lactating Mothers, Infants, and Children up to 6 years age group are organized with a group of Nutritionists, Gynaecologists and Paediatricians.
